Do you want to see roller skating rink in Longmont?

It has been 21 years since sunset skating closed down in longmont Colorado.  Before that it was called Roll o Rena since the 1950s.

In 1950 Delmar Jones and his wife started hosting  roller skating events at the memorial gym building at Roosevelt park. In 1952 they opened the first Roll o Rena on south main st. 

In the 1970 they opened a place called Al-du-rena and  in 1979 they opened  the final Roll o Rena in Longmont before  they sold it in 1986.

For many decades Roll o Rena  was a popular place where they would see over 600 people on Friday nights.   This is where many kids had birthday parties and hangout place after school. 

In 2023  freewheel limited opened up in Longmont in hopes of bringing a full time roller skating rink to the city.  They been holding many roller skating events at the boulder county fair grounds thru out the year.  From what i heard they are looking for a permanent place in Longmont but is not easy finding a big space for a roller skating rink.

Lmk Longmont Colorado if you would like to see a full time roller skating rink open up?  And what location would work best for roller skating rink?
